Update: Immediately PC to BCP from accidental BCE application

Thought I would update everyone on what happened after I accidently applied for the Amex BCE instead of BCP (and was approved). It was 7pm and I went ahead and called Amex right away and explained the situation. Customer service immediately sent me to new account services. New account services said I wasn't in the system yet (could take up to 24-48hrs) and that I needed to call back then and speak to Customer Service as they are the only ones who can PC. I called back the next morning and a CSR told me that I would need to wait until the card arrived so they could get the four digits off the front of the card. I said okay and hung up and called back to new account services who told me it was illegal for them to tamper with it, since it has already been approved. I said, "Okay so I'll just wait till a year is up to PC with customer service" and he said he wasn't even sure if it was legal at that point but he doesn't know a lot about it so not to quote him on it. I decided to wait, and my card came last night so I called a CSR this morning and was told that I had to wait the 12 months unless I wanted to apply for BCP and cancel BCE. I had such a great spree I just don't want to mess with any more applications. So end of the story is, they will not PC until a year. I wish I wouldn't have messed up when I applied online!! My spree jitters got the best of me!!! Happy to be with AMEX though Smiley Happy

Re: Update: Immediately PC to BCP from accidental BCE application

Definitely lesson learned. If any consolation at least it wasn't a flat out Denial.

Worth noting maybe? While online is dirt dumb easy to do, i found it's somewhat advantageous just apping on the phone with a "live" person and have them repeat back every important detail of info you give them, and sometimes that method yields back unexpected nice surprises a computer never would.

Congrats on Amex approval! Great CCC. Smiley Happy

+1.  I ended up chatting online + calling the new accounts dept (again) + EO today with no success.  Basically the same line you've mentioned, i have to wait 12months or cancel the BCE & reapply for BCP.

Well all we can do it wait, which I am okay with. I'm a teensy weensy bit overwhelmed by all my new cards anyway. Your spreadsheet is definitely helping me though, so thanks again Yu!
