Update....No Way!! What are the chances of BOA fully secured graduating?

Opened a fully secured  $300 BOA cash rewards card on April 30, 2017. Credit limit increase button showed up after my 3rd statement but I haven't touched it. Anyways PIF before the statement cuts, never late and highest usage has been around $150. Minimum payment is always $0 since I pay in full. Any thoughts on whether I should call and request it be unsecured or just wait until they start reviewing it at the 12 month mark?

***Update..Spoke with a credit analyst at BOA and she says "No, not today" after reviewing my TU report. I believe it was either a sp or they used the lastest report they had on file as I didn't receive any alerts and it's been two days. Only thing she mentioned was that "you've opened a lot of accounts since opening this one!" True, guilty as charged, nine new accounts since opening the BOA. Said they need to wait a while longer to see out I handle all the new credit. OK, you don't have to tell me twice...gardening until BOA and Discover decide they trust me enough to give me my money back. See y'all in the garden!!!

Re: What are the chances of BOA fully secured graduating?

Congrats on the BOA Cash Rewards! I wish I remember all the dates, but when I got it, I didn't know the CLI button.

What I know is, it's a solid card to have, and has quite the potential to grow. Each BOA CLI is a hard pull though.  That's another thing.

I hope someone else who knows more would chime in.  You could also update your siggy with some credit info so people can help you better!  Wishing you all the best!

The CLI would request additional security deposit right now, do that's probably not what you're looking to do. I would try calling to unsecure now since you're after the sixth statement. Please share more of your profile so we can help you out better. Happy New year's!

I know many who graduated at the 5th statement cut. I'd call and ask!

Re: What are the chances of BOA fully secured graduating?

I had my BOA secured rewards($500) card for 5 months when I saw the cli button on my online account. I gave the CSR a call and asked if my card could be unsecured and boom he unsecured it. He asked me if i wanted a cli as well but informed me it would be a HP. I said yes and got a cli of $1000. So I'm at $1500 CL right now. Pretty easy.

If you build it, they will come.

Thanks everyone. Guess I will try calling tomorrow to see if it can be unsecured. Won't ask for a cli right now cause I am trying my hand at gardening until at least June 2018 and don't want any HP's. Will update once I talk with them.  Profile wise I am listing my major accounts and their limits. AAoA is 2.6 yrs. Overall utilization right now is 14% (christmas shopping). Ton of student loans, never late, 11 years old and on the IBR plan. I have 3 unpaid collections from 2013-14. One PIF collection from 2015 and settled collection from 2013. Thanks again.

Not in my experience.  A few months back, I was logging in (or out) to (from) my BoA account - a garden variety Visa - and up popped an offer that I was eligible for a (soft pull) balance increase.  Went from 10K to 14K.  Full disclosure - I'd had the card for 16+ years, and don't believe that I'd ever requested an increase.

2025 Goal: save 3 months' net income

Yeah, FICO 9 is 850 as well. Smiley Happy

You have a ton of Synch cards... start calling Credit Solutions 877-379-8170 and asking them for CLI. They are all SP. Ask for $5k or $10k on each and they will counter.  Some will give more than others, some may not give but since you have had them all for over 3 months I bet you jump up to $3500 on many if not more!

Thanks for the advice Creditaddict. I have requested cli's from synchrony via luv button and an occasional chat for the Amazon and Walmart cards. Denied by both. I think I barely "got in" with Synchrony on the initial approvals with a TU score of 636. My profile hasn't changed alot since approval but they still deny increases citing derogatories, age of accounts and inquiries. Don't want to wake the Synchrony bear so I think I will sit quietly in the garden until each account is a year old and then try calling for a cli. Maybe by then they will trust me...lol.
