[Update: Scammed by CSR] Amex JetBlue card to be replaced by Barclays JetBlue Mastercard 3/21

1. Why not wait and get the Barclays card?

2. The CSR I spoke to said I had a choice of 6 cards to which to PC it; I chose the BCE; and supposedly he's PC'g it into the BCE.

Update 1/20/16 5:00 pm: Never mind, turns out that the CSR I spoke to was just scamming me.

I got that letter too, which is more or less consistent with what I was told by the CSR I spoke to.

One of these two things would make me apply for this card. Hopefully it has no annual fee also or it takes away from these

1. First bag is free with card. Saves me 25 bux.

2. Free upgrade to Even more speed and space seat..

By preemptively closing the acct I have a better chance of getting the sign up bonus after Barclays takes over rather than taking my chances and losing the opportunity.

It sure has. Turns out the CSR who told me I could PC it into a BCE card was just scamming me; he just put in an application, and the application was denied. Bummer.  1/20/16 5:02 PM

You should take it to social media. AMEX should know about the BS (and unethical practices) of its CSR and at the least, offer you the card or delete the hard pull. Write to them on Twitter.

Good point. Forgot about the AMEX current members rules. However of late apparently HPs have happened. OP needs to verify if an HP was done. In any case AMEX needs to be informed about this.
