Knowing that I would close this, I would have sent the picture request with the note hanging off of my dog.

I'm surprised they didn't stipulate that you had to take the selfie while in the bathtub.

ROFL yes I should have sent a very unusual selfie

Which end of the dog would have been facing the camera? ![]()
@markhs777 wrote:Had a similar situation with Synchrony after an unauthorized charge. It wanted a copy of my DL and a five second video of myself. A little too personal for my taste. After pushing the call up a few notches I got someone to agree to send a code through the USPS and call back which solved the issue.
Did they request "no clothes, and dance slow" like they did me?
yeah ive had to do similar bull**bleep** with certain places, after changing my phone number due to the ridiculous and annoying as **** spam calls i attact. i should have kept it because this new phone number is having the same issues EXCEPT i now get text messages, not just calls. Honestly, Verizon needs to figure their **bleep** OUT.

also, why did you take a screenshot of your screenshot? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 😁

I would have done the exact same, @Jnbmom.
It seems there's a "thing' with FinTech and weird security, since I had a similar issue with changing my address with Curve. All changes had to go through a 'ticket' system, and of course they needed proof - being logged in while sending the 'ticket' wasn't good enough. ![]()
In my case, they asked for a picture of a utility bill, which since I had just moved wasn't an option, so I had to wait until I had one. OK, no problem, I waited, and I sent a picture of my Spectrum bill, which had my new address but in a slightly different format than what I'm supposed to use on mail (the apt # is in the wrong place, but the mail man still delivers). Of course Curve didn't like that, and my only option was to have my Curve address set to the same technically wrong format. It never caused a problem, but it was annoying that they wouldn't take my word for it.
Sorry for what you went through and for the small rant... this (and other similar reasons) are why I will probably not bother with a FinTech product again.
I think it's less about fintech per se and more about startups working to carve out niches leveraging it. Priorities are going to be different for a FI like Fidelity (Mr Johnson was a huge proponent of leveraging technology) to develop and incorporate it, it's another if you're say a young company with about 70 employees headquartered somewhere around Geary or California St in San Francisco with your VC pulling the pursestrings in line with their own interests.
