I am not eligible for USAA but there is some discussion about their policies in this thread

USAA is not keen on lowering APRs. I've had them for years and the response has always been that you could apply for another card. With them you can go up to $50k on a single card, or if you get multiple cards then their combined total cannot exceed $50k. There are a handful of exceptions. I think @Gmood1 may be one. I got to $53k once but that was a hard line. Once I reduced one credit limit to scoop up another card and they firmly kept me at $50k.
I currently have a USAA Limitless at $30k, their Cashback Amex at $15k and a legacy Visa Rewards at $5k. Huge fan of USAA
Only $50k for me across two cards.
I do like USAA though.
Wish they'd get a handle on that auto and home insurance though. Had to drop them like it's hot in that area.😆
Whats so bad about their insurance and auto ? ![]()
@Anonymous
Their pricing increased drastically in my state several years ago. I and atleast 4 close family members moved on to greener pastures. Daughter's auto insurance dropped $80 a month by changing over to State Farm.
My USAA cards are at about 15k each, afaik they have never lowered the APRs and they tend to only increase my limits when I tell them I make more money. If I need to carry a balance for a short time I just use cash advance from the USAA rate advantage card (free to USAA checking and 6.9% Apr) and pay off other cards. Unfortunately I don't have the limitless, so that's about the only thing I use their cards for these days since I got the AOD 3%.
