Hi all~ This might be an exotic topic but I'd like to bring it up because you guys here are so knowledgable and always willing to help
To be straightforward, I'm planning to apply for CapitalOne QS and Discover IT (both accept ITIN application) with my ITIN since I don't have a SSN. I called Discover, a rep told me that I can just key-in my ITIN in place of SSN to apply online. But later on, thru their online web chat, another rep told me that I need to call to apply if I want to use ITIN...so I was confused and I don't dare to try it out online. I'm just wondering if there's anyone have this kind of experience? I've heard Chase only allows number starting with 9 in place of SSN. But what about others?
BTW, I have Freedom and Amex BCE for a while. Both cards were applied with my passport. I received my EX score as 730 when the Amex was delievered last year. My concern is if I apply new cards with ITIN this time, are they able to pull my previous history and score? I heard people say that score could be pull with only name and address. But sites like CreditKarma still requires SSN to pull the data...confused! I just hope they can get my score even with the new ITIN, otherwise I need to start allover again with a secured card
Thanks!
Yes, you can apply using your ITIN online for discover, citi, amex and chase application.Just key-in your itin number in place of SSN.They will be able to pull your credit history. For boa and fia, you need to call csr to apply.I was able to establish my credit using my ITIN before I got my SSN.My first card was capital one.You can set up a Credit Sesame account using your ITIN number because it only provides experian score while Credit Karma provides transunion score using your SSN.

Thank you, good to know! I though I won't get any reply...
Do you know if Cap1 also accept ITIN online? What about barclay btw? Regarding to the last one, do you mean CreditKarma requires SSN but Sesame accepts ITIN?
Thanks again!
Yes you can apply cap 1 online using ITIN.Barclay only accepts SSN..Credit Karma cannot pull your transuinion report using your itin.Credit sesame can.
I was unable to apply for the discover IT with my ITIN online however I did call up and was approved I had to upload proof of my ITIN. No big deal.
I got my amex when I was waiting for my ITIN no problem there (i had been an AU on my wifes card)
I also have two BofA cards which i did not need an ITIN for
I havent had any probems I signed up to quizzle before they needed a SSN just to keep an eye on my report. they dont need your ssn to track credit history it just makes it easier for them!
Well congratulations and good luck!

Oh no. I was asking Alkalinem0n0 in message 5.
Of course there will be HPs when applying new cards. I just want to make sure if the online app. system refused to take the ITIN, like he said in his reply, is there any inquiry along with this kind of denied.
Hi Guys,
I was just researching this topic and found this site - it says you can just replace the SSN entry with your ITIN Number:
