Hi everyone!
I have a dumb doubt, I want to apply for a GE Credit Card with Amazon or TJ MAXX, but both applications asks for a DL, I don't have a DL but I have my Texas ID Card... my doubt is..
Can I use the ID card number instead of DL number?
Anyone with the experience of using a ID card instead DL on a credit application?
Only filling the ID number in the space "DL number" and selecting the State?
Greetings to all!
Yes you can! Although I've never not used anything but my DL, many states issue out a non-driver's ID that's in the same exact format! If that's how your Texas license looks, it will most like be accepted!
I work for a department store that accepts credit card applications. I've done applications for people with driver's licenses, non-driver's ID, passports, dual citizens w/ visas, Canadian IDs and licenses, etc.
Also on our paper application it will ask you to write your DL or ID #, which is identical in syntax.
Worst comes to worst they may just ask for a copy of your ID just to verify that you are you! I don't think a credit card company would be able to tell the difference if the syntax is identical, so go for it!
Best of luck!
Oh in addition I work for JCP, and their credit card is backed by GE. So this further supports the O.K.!
ID should be fine with almost any credit application...good luck!!!
Of course you can. Non-drivers ID and driver license are both a form of ID.
+1
ID number and Drivers license number is exactly the same in florida, not sure about anywhere else. only difference here is the color behind the numbers are different and it says IDENTIFICATION CARD instead of DRIVERS LICENSE so yea it should be fine. I got few extra ID's made so incase I lose one lmao
Thank you for the info man, I'm thinking if tomorrow pull the trigger or not... Maybe I'll try tomorrow, because if I get the 7-10 days message I can talk imediately.
I think the Texas ID card is the same format of Texas DL....
Thank you to all for your answers!
