I have had an account with Virginia credit union . So far I have been pleased, I have a credit card and a line of credit . I have had this account a little over 3 months . I decided to ask for a CLI. I never heard anything back and went to check my account online . Account restricted, say what?
I called them the CSR couldn't tell me anything, other than I have to come to branch with ID, Social and proof of address. Then I get a nasty gram letter from fraud department , if I don't comply in 10 days , they are closing all accounts . I will sit on this , as working this new job , taking care of things on the home front and working on weekends at my old job. I don't have the time to drive to a branch .
I don't know why my last reply was removed, but avoid VACU at all costs. Their fraud dept is overzealous and won't hesitate to kick you to the curb.
Was with them for 10+ years before they tried something similar on me.
Well considering the closet branch is about an hour and a half and I work 6 days a week I decided to just close them and requested my money sent back to me from my checking and savings .

This is interesting I have had a membership with them since early 2000s and they have never done anything like that. Did they say why?
@Rebuild2019 Income and DTI play a really big role with them. I have a few family members that have 20K limits with them. I personally a 10.5K limit with them it started at 7.5K and they slowly increased over the years. I never use it but they have still been increasing
I can tell you exactly what triggered it. I asked for a CLI. I got a letter today that stated they could not approve because they could not validate my identity.

So they have your credit card restricted because of a fraud alert, but have no problem sending your money back to you? 🙈
Sounds like they're only interested in looking after they's and them's! 🤷♂️
