Venture rewards question.

Me and couple of my family members were approved for Venture card. How does that $400 sign up travel reward work? Can I get a statement credit or book a hotel with Expedia?

Well, Congratulations on the approval.

How much were you approved for? Also, I believe you can in fact book with expedia and have it count.

The Venture rewards work like a purchase eraser for travel.  Basically, book any travel, then after it shows up on your statement, go into rewards and target it.

I thought you had closed a bunch of cards in order to simplify? Lol you need to update your signature to reflect what you have now! Congrats tho. For some reason the Venture is super popular right now. For me personally it wouldn't be terribly useful even with a large limit.

Heh. I remember that.

I know you don't travel so it's useless for you for that fact, but the fact you can PC that higher limit down to a QS and keep a useful card at the end of the day (Yes, I called it useful) ultimately made it worth it for my purposes.

Good point on the PC. I wonder why cap one is handing out large limits on this specific card suddenly. I guess they figure travelers need large limits?

Yes you are right I did close them back then. I actually got all of them reopened and also added 3 new cards this month.
