Verizon is gold standard of celluar sevice..  With that said I highly doubt 1% would sign up even as kinda hidden.  I do think the bonus is very vague as one could get 1k or as you mentioned .66 cents or even less.. Although speculate it will probably be at leat 10 or so dollars as only is good for what 4 days?  Doubt 1.5 millino ppl will apply for this card in 4 days although stranger things have happened..  Decent card for those without better options for a very lenient lender with lower credit standards than say Us Bank/Citi and the likes

Verizon is great in major metro areas and along major interstate highways, but if you venture off the beaten path they are spotty. This is the main reason I went to AT&T as work has me in these areas occasionally. Along US 395 in California is one of these places (AT&T/Metro PCS were the only things that worked out there. I could stand on a hill and get one bar off and on with my Verizon phone at the time).

That said, Citi's AT&T card has a better sign up bonus and earns TY points. (It's still a little ho-hum)

Citi AT&T Access Credit Card

And while Synch may be a little more lenient in underwriting for some cards, remember that they tend to raise the bar for products bearing a Visa/MC logo.

Or one could forget all the above and just get the Amex Simply Cash + business card and get 5% cash back on phone service through any carrier. (which I do!)

I am there for the 4% groceries! I get 3% right now on Walmart purchases but 4% is more than 3%!! Gotta squeeze every penny!C9kHe50XkAQP-HZ.jpg

If I had to pay for my Verizon Wireless service, I would actually consider this card.  The 2 days of free TravelPass each year on the card can be a nice little perk.  That's a service I would not like to be without.  I did 4 countries in one day last year without ever having to change my SIM card or even change any settings on my phone.  Although I always get a kick out of seeing which random provider I'll get connected to every time I step out of an elevator.

Everyone seems to have a co-branded card these days. Not something that I'm interested as a Verizon Wireless customer but still nice to see options out there for those who may find value in this card.

I used to have Sprint and had that experience in rural areas but Verizon has always been much better for me.  DW used to have ATT after I switched to Verizon first.  We compared notes for a couple of years.  In our experience, Verizon usually beat ATT but occassionally it was the other way around.  So YMMV definitely applies and depends on the area.  In general, I think Verizon's claim to "best network" is appropriate.

I looked up the AMEX Simply Cash Plus card to review it.  Looks like it's no longer available to new applicants and they refer you to the Blue Business Cash card instead earning 2%.   So congrats on being grandfathered in!

For anyone looking for a great deal on cellphone service, I have the no-AF Chase INK Cash card which pays 5% cash back on cellphone and home tv-internet.  But when points are transferred to the Chase Sapphire Reserve, that 5% can be redeemed for 7.5% on UR portal travel redemption.  It may be the best deal currently available in category.

No surprise but it doesn't offer what would be most meaningful, cell phone insurance.   This is a big money maker for the carriers so they wouldn't want to give that away!

Lol  ... Smiley LOL  I think we know whether you'll apply ... Smiley Wink   It's kinda like when I just checked out the Apple card on my phone just to see what it was all about and then ... bam!!  Accepted and applied! Smiley Embarassed

It truly isn't a bad card for the right profile.  But I already have too many other good options so that diminishing incremental value equation is something I have to keep in mind.
