Very Impressed with Capital One!!

So I'm booking a hotel in New York for this summer and try to use my quicksilver card but it gets denied. Cap1 sends me a fraud alert asking if I was the one making the charge etc. I was happy with the security measures but I still needed to finish the booking. Used my 2% fidelity instead. I was curious about the charge with cap1 so I called and explained everything.

Here's the impressive part - they apologized that I wasn't able to use their card for the booking and gave me the $15 in cash back rewards anyway!! They said they wanted to be number one in my wallet....

They're smart, because here I am talking about them on myfico! I know they get a bad rap, but they've always been good to me!

Nice double dippage on the rewards  That'd earn some more serious kudos in my book, they're sitting AOK with me after the 3k CLI on what was my Plat card and subsequent PC into the non-AF QS card.  If only they'd make it a WMC instead of a Platinum.  Guess I'll try at the 6 month mark from when they PCed it...

I did the same with the plat to a QS but they said no on converting to a WMC. I asked when they CLi me to $5.3k. Maybe you'll have better luck?

I suspect that after a long time being bothered by e-mails and phone calls of all kind from a "number" of cardholders, EO officers begin to lurk around this forum and find out how crappy Cap1 is, so they decide to change

They are always nice when you use another card. In Canada I once lost my CDN cap one and called in the lost card. They were telling me sorry we can't FedEx a replacement we can only mail it, so I said, no problem I will just start using my other cards, take your time the others I have offer pretty good rewards.

CapOne card arrived the next day by FedEx...
