Today I went online to check my app. status for HSBC card and to my suprise I was declined (what in the world is going on) So I write down the number to call, I then return to the app. status home page and click on the orchard master card app. status and I was approved! (Now I am really confused). I call the first # and
ME:I was calling to find out why was I declined for the HSBC card (I really wanted this card)
CSR: Can I get your SSN.
CSR: mam I am still on hold can you continue to hold

CSR 2: Hi this is jenny from vexx.

CSR2: Hello Ms Carrington

CSR2: Mam you were declined because you were approved for the Orchard MC.

what in the hell) Can you repeat that?
CSR2: Mam you were declined because you were approved for the Orchard MC. Mam they are basiclly the same card so you can reapply in 90days to get the HSBC card!
ME: (A lil upset and confused) Well isnt it my choice if I want to have 2 simular cards in my wallet? CSR2: well yes it is!
ME:I have never had to beg a CCC to take my money what kind of operation are you guys running there?
CSR: (She laughs)
ME: (did she really think I was joking?) (So a little more pissed not yet at a frustrated level) Well since you all didnt go solely off of my CR can you remove the inquiry?
CSR2: Well I am not a credit specialist so I cannot guaranty you that I can!
ME:Its not fair for my score to drop because of a inquiry that you all dont even take into consideration! CSR2:I understand, why dont you apply for the visa
ME: Can you all use the inquiry that you have already pulled?
CSR2: I am unsure mam, but you can call this number and the can further asist you with with all of your questions.
ME: They can answer the questions about the inquiry?
CSR2: Yes mam. The number is 877-700-4722
ME: Oh I got another question for you.
CSR2: OK
ME: If I do apply for the visa do I have to apply online or can I apply over the phone?
CSR2: Oh you can apply over the phone. You should be approved, just call that number that I gave you and they will do your applcation over the phone.
ME: O, Thank you!
CSR2: You are welcome mam, is there anything else I can help you with?
ME:No thank you
CSR2:And THank you for your interest in our card, you have a nice day
ME:You too.
That phone call was over an hour and that was only the first call out of 4! I will spare you all the details! Long story short after calling all 3 other numbers, I found out that the 2nd CSR should not have told me that I should be approved (They take that as her stating pre approval!, The 3rd CSR did not know what a soft/Hard pull was, The Supervisor was even less help than the CSR! There is nothing that they are willing to do to help me, and last but mot least HSBC have a lottttttttttttttttt of phone numbers!
Do anyone know if there is something that can be done about the inquiry?
