My wife and I just got married end of June. In all the planning and honeymoon she totally forgot about her balance of $27 on her VS Card. We moved a while ago but she kept her parents address on the card. So she did not receive the statments monthly, she was just used to going on line and paying it off. After two months went by they called her and asked if she would like to pay off her balance, which was higher after two late fees. She was shocked and dissapointed that she forgot about this. She paid it all off and later called VS to ask if this would report. The lady on the phone said that it will report but after further talk she realized that the address was not updated and that her email was incorrect in their system, so she said this is why you never got any of our statments or any notifications of this. So without even asking her, she came out with this her self and told my wife that they will take care of this and will straighten things.
This was the first time she missed a payment and we got really lucky that they were so nice about it and without any major hussle they took care of this.
Just wanted to share this with you guys in case someone might be going through something similar.
Thanks,

That's nice but make sure you get it in writing cause verbally to me is not enough .I understand situation but it could've easily went the other way.Hie it's now on Aut Pay for Minium

+1
To side with caution because sometimes saying and doing doesn't always equate the same from our end as it does their's, check your reports to ensure all is well.
Not at all trying to dampen the mood for you because THAT IS FANTASTIC and some very welcome news indeed.
We did receive an email saying that the two months that she missed the payment were going to be updated to say "current" and it states that they have notified the credit reporting agencies of the update and it will take about 45 calendar days. She said we will also get a letter int he mail stating this. After this my wife and I set up all of our accounts to autopayments just in case something happens. We are always pretty good and we watch our accounts regularly but it can happen to the best of us as Iearned through this. We got out of this situation the pretty easy but im making sure all my accounts are covered so even when I can't pay something on time the autopayments will cover it.

We will definately check her reports when the dust settles to make sure they did what they said they would. I think in two months it should be safe to pull up her credit report and see if there are any late payments showing. We did get it in writing, e-maiol, and hard copy is on the way. So I hope it will all end up as planned.

Good deal.
Looks like they are "very understanding" just as you mentioned and it's always smart to double check later just to be on the safe side. ![]()
