I got a Visa Black, in fact here are all the cards I have that I pay an annual fee and at some point I will prob. get tired of it and cancel a few:
Visa Black Card: $495 annual fee
Diners Carte Blanche (MasterCard): $300 annual fee
AMEX Platinum charge card: $450 annual fee plus up to 3 additional card holders at $175 = $625 total annual fee
Citi Prestige: $450 annual fee
Total: $1,870 in annual CC fees
The only two I keep in my wallet (I use a Camel cigarette carton as my wallet, cards fit perfectly in them): AMEX PLatinum and Citi Prestige.

So, the Visa Black isn't worth it then if you plan to get rid of it. How is Barclays travel? Do the points add up to be better as they claim?

I have not seen the points add up better as they claim relative to other cards. I'm not a heavy user though.

I have the Visa Black card and have had it for around 4 months. It only has a 5k limit, not high compared to my other cards. It's ok, I can't justify the annual fee as yet though. I'm waiting to see what luxury gift they send me. I still have not received any gift, I'm hoping it's a Rolex or something lol....
There is an annual raffle for a gift cert. for a Rolex you can redeem at a Rolex seller if you win the raffle. I have not won so far. The gifts range from a Parker pen to last year, Ray Ban Aviator sunglasses. I just eBay them for cash as I did not need them.
Fiancée was sent an invite but there is no way we would need that card or even use it. I guess it is because we keep balances on our cards recently....
I'll probably pick up the Black Card soon looks nice and $495 is not that much. I spend that in a week's time at the casino.
And as you can see, I'm a sucker for black cards period.

My point exactly... To me, it's out of my league but to a lot of people like yourself, its a night on the town or two. It breaks down to $41.25 a month - $1.37/day.
Now if you have to choose between Visa Black or AMEX Plat, you might be pressed to choose AMEX. But people like you don't have to choose, you can easily afford both.
