Visa card, mastercard, which will be better for students?
Thats an apple to orange sort of question, it all will boil down to personsal preference...
Most will accept either but there are a very few places that only accept one or the other. So you would have to research what would be a better fit for you. IMHO Some card companies such as Cap1 seem to have better benefits to their Visa card such as no or lower annual fees. Welcome to the forum!
The terms of a particular card depend mainly on the bank that's issuing it, not what processing network it operates on. However, as coldnmn said, it seems that sometimes certain banks will give slightly different terms for the Visa vs Mastercard version, you just have to research that for the particular card you're looking at.
For the most part, I don't think there's a difference really. Both Visa and Mastercard are taken almost everywhere. Just try to find out what cards are accepted at places you plan to use it. If you find out that some of them only take Visa or only take Mastercard, then you'll know what to get. If you don't find any acceptance issues then I don't know of any reason to pick one over the other. Many times you can get the same card as either a Visa or a Mastercard, with the same terms either way. Other times, some banks treat the Visa version as the slightly "better" card, but in that case, it's really beyond your control and you just get whatever you get when they run your credit.
Discover and AmEx have more acceptance issues, but both Visa and Mastercard are good choices if it's your only card.
Assuming this is to be your first credit card, then do you have any plan of what other card you want to get after you've built some credit history? If so, then find out what network that "more desired" card uses, and make your first card something different.
This question doesn't really even make sense. There is not "one" visa card and "one" mastercard... There are MANY cards that run on each network issued from MANY different banks...

Not really a deciding factor as they're just payment networks with generally equivalent acceptance. As uusual, it comes down to selecting a specific card for the individual. Evenven among "students" there isn't a single best card for everyone. You'd need to give us a lot more info if you want recommendations.

Im not sure if you meant to say which student card is better like cap one journey, citi forward, or discover it student? But it does depend on where you shop. The only place that I have been to that wont take a visa is sams club store, however at the sams club gas station will take the card.
In terms of being a visa or mastercard it will not make a difference for a student which one you use. There are many different issuers of student credit cards and each have different terms and conditions.
Realistically you are looking at a visa platinum or a platinum mastercard, which offer the same thing
Either or really. Most places in the US accept all four networks. You should be really looking into the best student card in terms of rewards and overall value rather than what network it runs on.
