So I just got off the phone with Chase and at the end of March that's when they're going to be able to combine their systems with WAMU. I inquired if I could combine the cards and I was told "YES". Now I'm terribly confused as to what I want to do with my cards in March '09.
The cards I have with them are:
Chase Freedom with $1500.00 APR 13.24%
WAMU Cabela with $1500 APR (19% or 22%) can't recall.
I love my Chase Freedom because the rewards rack up quickly, but it has a measly credit line, compare to how much I spend. WAMU has the same CL and I earn Cabela rewards, but quite frankly, I won't be using those points.
I was thinking of combining both cards and having a CL of $3,000 for my Chase Freedom and lower APR.
My credit history is very young (almost 3 years and most of my cards are going to be 1 year old or 6 months) So I don’t know if closing a good TL would affect me.
Now, should I combine both cards OR just keep the WAMU open and request a CLI with Chase (my scores have improved and are in the 700’s) and take the inquiry?
What would YOU do?
I just want higher CL by the time I apply with CITI
