WF OneKey Questions

I use Hotelsdotcom a lot, and at first, the OneKey card could be useful. However, after I did into their terms, things get confusing. So, for anyone who has this card (or anyone who has answers), I'd appreciate your feedback/insight

1. When I go onto WF website, it says "Get up to $600 SUB", but when I click on the cards, it just shows $400, plus the $100 yearly credit, plus $120 Global Entry. Are they counting the yearly credit and GE as part of the $600? Does anyone have a link to the actual $600 SUB?

2. I may be misunderstanding something here, but it says your stays don't count towards Platinum status? I already have Gold status w/Hotelsdotcom, and I should have Platinum at some point in 2026. *If* I'm understanding the fine print, the only way for me to get Platinum status if I use this card is to spend $30k (or some other minimum I may be remembering incorrectly). Is this true?

3. What is the actual percentage earned as a Gold member with this card? My research is showing a number of different percentages from 5-7% as Gold and 9% only if you're Platinum. Are the points split up between the card and Hotelsdotcom? It's so effing confusing.

4. Random question not directly tied to this card, but I'm confused, so...is CDW primary insurance, is my personal insurance still the one that's going to get hit first if I get into an accident in a rental car?

5. I need 4 stays by 12/31  w/Hotelsdotcom to maintain my Gold status next year. I wasn't planning on doing any trips until January, but I *could* make it work if I had to. However, I've seen some forums say to make a dummy booking somewhere cheap for like $10 a night and just not show up, and I'll still get credit. Is this true?

Thank you so much for any input. I'm interested in this card, but I don't really trust WF too much, and the fine print is incredibly confusing and not helpful.

Re: WF OneKey Questions

Don’t they have a tool tip or terms and conditions that explain these things? I’m just seeing $300 for the SUB. I’d get Cap 1 Venture personally.

Re: WF OneKey Questions

I have the VentureX. I use hotelsdotcom extensively, so having free cash w/them would really come in handy.

Reading the terms and conditions is what produced the questions. The terms are so confusing compared to the advertising. They don't make any sense. I mean, I guess it's a moot point, because the advertising is so deceptive that it's sending up too many red flags. I probably have enough credit cards for now.
