Unless you're rolling like 'Lifestyles with Robin Leach' for the average Joe or Jane, what does this really mean and does it really matter? To the cardholder it means almost nothing, and it doesn’t really matter. To the merchant it means higher swipe fees, so they hate it.
Except if you're @CreditCuriosity. Then it matter a lot. He's kind of a CC snob, LOL hehehe

I doubt that even a lot of big spenders find the perks useful. It's much more about image and creating a (usually false) appearance that customers are saving money..
Remember, Visa and MC get a tiny amount of revenue per card. If they were giving things of real value to big spenders, word would spread quickly and they would start hemorrhaging money.

Thats how they got rich....being cheap
It makes me feel a little better when I am leaving the country or going on a big trip to have some of the benefits of WEMC.
No, I have not filed any claims, but it does not cost me anything.
I think some vendors may notice the difference even if they dont act like it.
DON'T WORK FOR CREDIT CARDS ... MAKE CREDIT CARDS WORK FOR YOU!

What are those benefits that WEMC gives you when you are on an international trip? I haven't seen any.
Of course the vendors notice the difference. It costs them more in the form of higher swipe fees.

Exactly. The WMC, WEMC, VS, etc is IMO mostly marketing to create a sense of prestige. Yes you do get some additional benefits that most people are unlikely to use.
The extended price protection (on the MCs) could be useful, but the number of situations where you 1) need/remember/bother to use price protection to begin with, and 2) don't use it soon enough so you need that extra time, seems like it would very infrequent.
To sum it up it's not something I would worry about; in general people need to focus on benefits offered by the bank itself, and rewards, etc before worrying about network.
