Re: WaMu I could use input on this CC

I've had the card ~4-5 months. No complaints.  It took a couple of months for the PFico to update but now they're updating like clockwork.  The interest rate is pretty good; I definitely recommend.

I was reading some about WAMU recently--off the reservation.

They seem quite generous with the CLs and CLIs.

Re: WaMu I could use input on this CC

I just snagged a WaMu card, $1500 CL (highest CL I've had on a CC since the Nineties), using the methodology I put forth in my credit card thread stickied up top.

Re: WaMu I could use input on this CC

They gave me a $9000 CL a almost a year ago. Just raised it $1500 more yesterday after I paid down most of my balance over 2 months.

Re: WaMu I could use input on this CC

I got my WaMu exactly 2 months ago. They gave me $750 CL. They gave me 0% APR till Jan08, so my util is 45% with $30-50 going into repayments each month. When this card hits 6 month mark, my balance should be low and hopefully they can bump my CL to at least $2k.

BTW, the only reason i got this card is because they give you free Fico TU score each month.

My latest WaMu PFico TU Score 7/1/07 was 552.

CLI dept over the phone at Wamu told me they decline for UTL over 25-30%. I have been declined for years by them. My UTL is always high. My credit was perfect/clean when I applied, still always denied by Wamu. I never knew high UTL was looked at as a big giant negative. I tell everyone now to pay off UTL below 10% even better if down to 0% before applying for anything. The only company for me that didn't mind my high UTL was Advanta.

I would like to also add, WAMU may also deny if CC debt is too high even with low UTL. Lets say someone had $100k in CC debt making minimum payments and was only 20% UTL. Personal opinion Wamu would deny. On the other hand I think Amex would love a person like that if no baddies. You post above add some proof that either you were lucky or the person at Wamu lied to me.

Re: WaMu I could use input on this CC

I just applied for and was approved for a WaMu card.  I received a pre-appoval for 0% on balance transfers for a year and 9.99% interest rate.  I called today and my credit limit is $1500 and they approved a balance transfer of $900.  Does anyone know how much of your balance you can devote to balance transfers?  I recently requested a CLI from First Premier and was denied.  After figuring out that my length of history will only lose 1 year, I'm going to close this card.  Now that I am approved for cards with no annual fee, having the card is just not worth the fees.
