The current CSP offer I see is 60K points after you spend $4K in 3 months, no waiving of the first annual fee. Should I go ahead and apply for it, or wait / hope for a better offer? (On it or CSR.) I see there was a better offer (80K points) in June, but I missed it.
I want the card because I'm planning to book some travel soon.

That's up to you. But sometimes you can get a better offer at a branch.

60k is the standard offer on the CSP and that is not a bad offer.
I guess it depends on your travel horizon. If you aren't planning a major trip you can wait to see if an elevated offer comes in. Typically some of the best offers are in Jan-Feb timeframe before people have bought summer travel.

Thanks! Even if I don't have a banking relationship with them?

Good to know, maybe I'll wait till then. Thanks!

I would disagree with the Jan-Feb time frame. I got the very tail end of the 100k offer some time last November. I personally wouldnt app for lower than their 80k offer.

Yes, you can ask if they have an ongoing promotion for the CSP even if you don't currently have an account. You can also keep an eye out for affinity links with enhanced offers that pop up on places like the CardMatch tool on creditcards.com
I don't see anything better on my Chase CPC portal right now.

I would take that article with a grain of salt because "80K ain't coming back any time soon but it's great card, here is our referral link for current offer, go for it!"
When I find a blogger who's getting paid for reviews (and referrals) who states "this card sucks, dont apply" before putting referral link, I'll buy whatever they are selling.
And while some gently approach "cons", those "cons" are always minimized while "pro" is almost universally exaggerated.
Read enough of that and every card becomes ideal.
