Walmart CLI denied

Well, I waited six billing cycles and then asked for a CLI from Walmart Discover and got denied. They wouldn't give a reason but they said a letter will come in the mail. I guess GECRB just changed their policies. That stinks because I used to be able to count on an increase on my Walmart card every four months. It was an important part of my credit strategy. I hate how they took away the online LUV button and made me call a representative to get denied. I'm stuck at $2000 as my highest limit right now.

Yeah, I notice GE is stingy with the CLIs nowadays. It's frustrating and annoying. They used to be reliable with that.

It is probably a YMMV situation. I just requested my regular 4 month CLI and went from 3350 to 4500. I requested a CLI to 5500 over the automated system, they gave me the 4500 as a counter offer. I got a letter that said the original request was beyond the guideline increase fornthe account (whatever that means). Others have reported that when their Walmart was a couple years old and/ or the limit got above 3k, they got offers for the Walmart Discover. My card is over 4yrs old, and although I am able to CLI's, I have yet to get a offer to upgrade to The Discover. I was able to get CLI's on Lowe's and Dillard's AMEX this week also, so GE is still doing increases.

I would call back and ask to be transferred to credit dept. They will do a SP to do a manual review. The automated system I have been finding lately is using a report they generated 30-90 days ago... I have not really had luck but many have!

If you need the CLI for a major puchase, I would call and specify that in the conversation. 2k CL is pretty good for a walmart card.

Thats a Walmart Discover card. 2k is pretty low for that. Know someone who called last week on their 4-5 GE cards. Got CLIs on all of them.

Yeah. It is true GECRB is getting stingy. I have 1 one increase from them this year out of two cards. The rest of the time I get denied(try once a month). Walmart stuck at 1400 and Amazon stuck at 2500. Not too bad i guess, maybe they are sick of me asking. lol

Just got a 634 CLI from wal-mart last week, weird ammount but now my CL is $3034

But was turned down for any CLI on my Amazon card. Letter stated too many account with balances. I have 10 cards and only 3 have a balance. I guess that's too many for them.
