Does anyone use Walmart Credit Card? I was approved for a walmart retail card with a $300 CL over the phone but not Walmart Discover Card. I prefered Walmart Discover card better but the system won't approved me so the Representative approved me for a retail card instead. However I was told that I could convert it to Walmart Discovercard at a later date.(It's better be true)

Thanks alot!
I've got the card. All I can say is that it did it's job in helping me to rebuild. It's now living in the SD. I don't really care for Walmart at all, but you can't beat some of their prices, so laundry detergent, toilet tissue, and cans of Campbell's 'cream of whatever' soup for casseroles get purchased there, LOL! Still, I don't use the Walmart card because A) there are no rewards, B) it takes too long for the balance to show up and be payable online, and C) (this was the deal-breaker) I had to resort to going into the store and paying cash to pay the bill, because they would hold my ACH transfer for WEEKS! This card is too much work. I'll warn you to never carry a balance, as the interest rate is HIGH. Oh, and when I've paid in the store with cash, two times in a row, the CSR managed to forget to give me the change-- applying the entire amount of cash to my balance, including an overage. And, apparently they can't get it back. So, you'd think, whatever, I'll just have a small credit, right? Wrong! GEMB just takes the credit as additional profit, and only if you notice you have to ask for it back. They'll give it back, then take it again.
It's been nothing but hassle for me. But, YMMV. Others have reported nothing but good experiences.
CC, that would seem accurate that another application would be necessary, because the Walmart store card is through GEMB, and the Walmart Discover is through HSBC. Unless, perhps, Walmart Financial Services acts as a go between with the issuers and has a way to convert.

That's not true. I was also told that my card could be converted but when I tried to convert over the phone I was told yes and then about 7 days later I received a letter stating that a conversion was not possible and the only way to receive the discover card was to apply for a second card...

Really, is that really true? How long did you have the card?
Man I don't appreciate Retailer or Financial institution lying on their customer. I would be really pissed off. I'm sure they can convert it because they are the issuers. I will wait for the card to arrive in the mail in 7-10 days and 6-9 months later I will call in to upgrade it.
Hi,
I was wondering, is this card BK friendly? My CH7- was discharge 7/2008. Iam trying to rebuild, but avoiding the high fees credit cards such as Premier, Orchard etc...
I have looked at the BK friendly card list here, but Iam not sure how current it is. Since all the financial industry changes.
I have 1 secured CC with Fifth Third bank, for $500.
My scores now: 630
Right after BK: 507
Everything is reporting correctly as Included in BK, including 2 mortgages.
HI yes the walmart retail card is BK (Bankruptcy that is not BURGER KING) friendly. I had a BK back in 2005 and so I still get approved so i guess my credit is back to normal.
