I got some bad news today. My father has been very ill and was diagnosed with liver cancer. He wants to put me on as a AU on his Walmart Discover with a 15k limit and only a $500 balance. He wants to do this for when he gets to sick to take care of my mom. Mom is also ill and does not drive so when dad gets real sick I will have to take over buying things for her.
My dad called Walmart Discover and was told(i assume by a 1st level CSR)that I could be added but I won't be reported to credit bureau. I thought I read here somewhere that Discover does report AU's? This maybe be different and I can't find any solid info. This card is confusing as it is a Discover card but I believe that GE handles it because it is a Walmart card is this correct? My biggest question does anyone have any solid information on this card if a AU would be reported to credit bureaus. I am going to do either way but it would be nice if it did report me as dad has had this card for many years so my AAoA would go up and the UTIL is very low so I would think it would help me there TIA.

I have the regular Walmart card, not the discover. I added my son to it and it shows on his.

What info did you have to give, because I looked into it and it seemed like they just wanted the name of the AU.

Have not done it yet told him not to do it until I got more information(wanted to get info from this forum). I am going to do so either way but I like to be fully informed.
