I have only had my Walmart Discover for 4 months. I have charged and then completely PIF. I went to go pay my bill today (8/9, which is not due until 8/27) and I just happen to notice something different. They gave me an increase of $1000. Is this normal after only having it such a short period of time and without telling you or you asking for it? I noticed there was a little button beside the "Available Credit" that says "Request Increase" and I was going to put it to full use after this month (since my very last bad thing on my credit will fall off then), but it looks like they have already done that for me.
I was just wondering if this was normal?
When should be the next time "I" decide to ask for an increase? I started at $800 and now it's up to $1800. I am super excited.
I also thought that you can only get your TU update on the 10th of the month and when I "checked my score" it gave me a new score today... which after getting that increase, it actually dropped my points down by 6.
Either way, I'm very happy about this.
Congrats wait 3-4 months and ask again
Hit them up for increases every 4 months like clockwork. They did give you one at the 4 month mark automatically but you can always see if you can get more!
It looks like updates can happen anytime before the 10th but no later than that.

What does this mean? (Sorry, not up to date on the terminology)
the luv button is know as the request credit limit increase button, SP is soft pull inquiry (only viewed by you)

Yes...GECRB reports pretty quickly. Some would say...too quick. lol (when I was approved it was on my report the next day...lol)
They bumped my credit limit by $1400 after 4-5 months without me asking either.
