IMHO it doesn't matter because you can always call for a limit increase after a approval

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Walmart- apply in store or online?

I have gotten so much conflicting info on asking for CLI I don't know what to do!  Some say wait 6 mo, some say wait a year, some say 61st day, some say right away.  I am completely lost on that!  I don't even know who to call and how to ask.

My score right now is only 591 from myFICO. (which ever one you get when you start, I haven't paid for the others)

IMO, your score is too low for WalMart. I'd wait until your TU score is closer to 620. Also, with GE you can request a sp CLI after the 4th statement.

I got an Old Navy card with a 584 with a $300 limit last month.  Aren't they backed by the same bank?

You can ask for a CLI almost anytime on GE cards with  the exception of a few

If just approved some have asked for a CLI immediately

If you already have a card you can ask every 4 months

Re: Walmart- apply in store or online?

Idk what my TU is unless you assume that the CK score is accurate and that is 604 I think.

They are backed by the same entity but each GECRB card program has different underwriting criteria for approval.  Keep in mind, score alone is not the only criteria.  If you don't want to waste a HP I would listen/take heed on Lexie's comment.

I wouldn't consider CK accurate at all. Is their a util issue that can raise your score or baddies ?
