Have you been doing it online, or calling? I have found personally - that they computer is A LOT pickier than the reps. When the computer tells me no, I call a rep and get one every time (knock on wood) as long as it's been 4 months.

It's been online only. Maybe their computers are pickier than the reps. What kind of CLIs do you get from the reps? I ask because when the computers do approve me, they give me really nice CLIs (the last one was a $1000 increase), as opposed to $100 or $200.

Typically the computer would give between $800-$1200. The last 3 times I have just tried the rep and she asks what I want.
(now that's what I'm talking about) haha! but with the rep, I've gotten $2k to $3k every time.

I'm still not completely sure that we're understanding each other. GEMB/ Walmart adores you using their card. It means that Walmart is making money by selling you stuff, and GEMB is making money by getting a cut off of each purchase.
The bit about not letting it report over 50% (or 30%, or 10%, or whatever) is for FICO scoring tactics, not for keeping lenders happy.
Did the $372 show up on your most recent statement? If your statement hasn't dropped yet, and you want a smaller amount to report (remember, that's just for FICO scoring), pay most of it off on the online website. That way, you'll have a smaller amount due on the statement, and therefore a smaller amount reported.
If it is showing on the statement, no worries, just pay it off before the due date. You're not going to get in trouble with GEMB as long as you promptly clear it off.
Remember, most people in America have no idea about this paying-early bit. My mother, who probably has scores in the 800's, thinks I'm a lunatic for doing so. She just waits for the statements to arrive and pays her bills immediately. She's never had a bit of trouble.
Now, I will say that if you had a fistful of cards and every one of them routinely reported 50% - 90% usage, you would freak out the lenders when they soft your reports and see how much you owe to other lenders. So I would definitely advise not doing that. But one card, every now and then; shouldn't be an issue.
Actually it was crosby's comment and my mind put it as a requirement as I read for some apparent reason. Combined im at about 25 utilization on my cards, most are at 10-15% of their limits. ![]()
Hope that I did not cause any confusion.
Oh no, you did nothing it was my head... I was sleepy when I replied lol.
Is a CLI more likely to be approved when you have a zero balance reporting ?
I currently have a zero balance but was curious if that had any effect.
