Just wanted to share some helpful information related to the Walmart card, which would actually apply to both store card and Mastercard.
Generally, when you receive a CLI on the card, your cash over limit should increase as well. People have reported on the board different levels of increase in the cash over limit, although the cash over limit is often 20% of your overall limit.
There are no fees associated with using the cash over feature on your Walmart card, which is convenient if you need cash while running errands. No interest for 30 days in addition.
I recently received a CLI and my card limit is now $14,000, with a cash over limit of $2,800. During the day after the increase, I confirmed the new cash over limit in chat and everything was fine.
Somehow after the 1st 48 hours, the system reset to have the cash over limit be only $200. Not sure why and the manager in CS could not figure it out either.
Luckily the manager in CS was on top of it and was able to get it corrected.
Now, I don't need nor would I use such a large cash over limit, but it should be correct on my account. I noticed when the statement cut that it read $200 instead of $2,800 for cash over and did not know why.
If something similar hapens to you, or if you ever need help with your cash over limit (i.e, it's showing incorrectly, you wanted to ask why it's at the level it is or request an increase in the cash over limit because it is not at 20% of CL), Customer Service is the one to call.
I initially called Credit Solutions and they don't deal with cash over limits or fixing that in your account. In fact, Credit Solutions could not even see nor confirm my cash over limit.
Sharing this to let people know the correct route to follow if you have an issue or question about this limit, and also to let you know that Customer Service does help quickly if there is an issue. The issue on my end was fixed by them within 24 hours.
Hope this helps someone and have a good day.
Good info. Thanks for sharing.
Good info yes, my limit is $8000 and my available for quick cash/cash limit is $1600.00. I have done the cash back thing at Wal-Mart a few times like $100 or $60 bucks here and there. I was always curious if there was a max amount you could do monthly and if you could only get $100 back each transaction max?

Hi d,
It's $100 cash over per 24 hour period. The $100 has to be taken out in one single transaction per 24 hours is my understanding- cannot do multiple transactions per day.
It's not considered a cash advance, it's just cash over in addition to your purchase, which is offered by DIscover as well.
You do have full use of the entire cash over limit on your account. I guess if someone wanted to, they could withdraw the entire $2,800 cash over limit in $100 increments per 24 hour period.
I have no plans to do so, ha ha! It's just nice to know there is cash over available if you were running errands and needed some in a pinch - totally fee-free, and interest free for 30 days.

I've used that feature for cash on the way to the beach. Most places take cards but great to support local economy
Agreed, fordguy. Plus, it's nice to have the money fee-free and interest free for 30 days as well!
Good info! Thanks, humu!

Do you need a PIN number for this?
No PIN number needed, you just request cash over at the register when paying with your Walmart card in a Walmart. Same procedure with the Sam's card at Sam's Club as well. No minimum purchase needed in either situation, in case you happen to be stopping in the store for just a candy bar.
I visit the self check-out register at a Walmart Neighborhood Market (these are totally different than a regular Walmart - small, clean, very nice, not crowded at all).
Utilizing the self check-out register makes it very easy and streamlined to zip in, quickly pick up one item I need, hit the "cash over" button when I go to pay and I'm on my way! No lines or cashier delays.
