Does any one know of a reward card that consideres Walmart as a grocery store? Also on line pet food store? Here in the middle of no where I limited shopping options. Shop just down the street at Bob's General Store or go 13 miles to the county seat and shop at Walmart. I tend to go to Walmart every 2 weeks . I have a Sams card and a Discover card among others. But am looking for something better to use at Walmart. Sam's card is good at Walmart.
Its been a few months, but the Bank of America Cash Rewards should count Walmart as grocery. I find this to be hit or miss depending on the Walmart or maybe even the register I am on. This would be the same as getting a 2% on everything card, like the Citi Double Cash or even the Fidelity cards. There are others out here as well.
Huntington The Voice has a Walmart category that gives 3% cashback/triple points. That includes anything at Walmart and the Tire Lube Express at any Walmart.

Amex BCE gives 3% at the smaller non Super Walmarts.
I love this card.
Thank You. I will look and see if that benefits. I got my Citi Double card and have been wearing it out. I need something else so I don't have to pay down all the time.

How old is the card? Have you checked for a SP CLI?
Sometimes they have a sign up bonus $100 to $150 also.
I've banked with Huntington since they took over for FMB and I was still in highschool.
I've been looking for another card with Walmart rewards also. I tend to spread my spend around to keep cards active, maximize rewards and utilization low.
I have had my Citi Double card now for only 2 months. I think they like me because keep getting preapprovals in the mail for other cards since then. The problem is it replacing as the go to card my QS and my wife's QS card. Her's has a lot higher limit than mine. I still am in my first year of Discover with their awesome deal. But, I like my cash now not later. I will wait the 6 months and try for a cli. Niether of us can afford any more hard inq for several months but I will look out for preapprovals in the mail.
Your best bet is to use a flat 2% card because even though some Walmarts are considered grocery stores by BOA Cash Rewards (or similar cards), you're still just getting 2%, and it's hit or miss. I'd just avoid the coding headaches and just use a flat 2%.
For online petfood I would use a discounted gift card for something like PetSmart or Petco. GiftcardGranny currently shows Petsmart cards at 21+% off (https://www.giftcardgranny.com/buy-gift-cards/pet-smart/) and if you buy that with a DoubleCash you are looking at 23%. Walmart would have to be much cheaper!
Amazon also sells some food cheaper.
