Walmart

Is Walmart considered a store card or just your everyday run of the mill credit card? I ask because I wonder whether it it contributing to my mix of credit or just a low limit sock drawer card that needs to be pulled out now and again to avoid the dreaded closed by credit grantor down the road. Experian codes the account as revolving same as my other credit card accounts. I absolutely don't need the card for utilization purposes and it doesn't help my average age.

Re: Walmart

I have a Sams Club card which shows up as a Revolving Account (normal credit card).  They card is good a both Sams and Walmart.  My best guess thast it would be.

Re: Walmart

Wal-Mart is a store card, which is a type of revolving account, but still contributes to credit mix in a different way than major credit cards do.

All open revolving accounts, including store cards, contribute to revolving utilization.

Re: Walmart

Thanks cheddar I thought that was the case. Just hate looking at the niggling credit limit. I need to keep it open.
