Try doing a search for "Chase recon". There was a recent thread about how to go about this. Many, many, many people get the 30 day msg w/ them. (Heck, I did and it ended up taking almost 6 weeks.)
Good luck!
Im in the same boat. there is a sticky here that has # for recon, Chase: 888-245-0625 (Credit Analyst - Recons)
Thanks to Scamp for putting that together.
I have a few derogs old enough to be gone this year, I really should have just waited a little longer. I am just going to tell them the truth, and explain that they are all from the same time period, I had a contract position that was paying $90k a year, and I lost it and could not pay my bills. My history SINCE then has been flawless, and I take my credit very seriously today.
Too many recent accounts? I am trying to build solid history with non-predatory lenders, the first round of credit was all I could get, I opened recent accounts with better terms and closed the older accounts. Why keep a card like Aspire or anything else that has a 3 digit annual fee, when I could get a Hooters card (@ $0 AF) or something that can actually grow, however slow it may be, and they dont charge the high fees?
I have yet to have a recon end in my favor, BOA and Nordstroms told me to FOAD so Im hoping this will turn out better, my scores and reports have imporved since then.
when you call the automated line, did you press 1 to talk to an advisor? Just curious as to where that goes.
While my app was pending there wasn't anything the CSRs on the status line could do. Once I rec'd the denial in the mail, that's when it was time to 'deal' -- even with the frontline CSR.
The result was a 4k Chase Amazon Visa. The original road block? I let a 5k First USA Gold card, now Chase, from 1993 go bad -- very bad by 1996. In 1999 the amount due was 10k, I made payments to a CA for years and they ended up writing off the rest of the debt. But Chase remembers. I argued that the debt was legally settled in 2005 -- tho I'm sure they'd already written it off.
Occasionally when I have to call Chase for something, they automatically connect me to the collections department. It's quite amusing explaining that no, I'm now a well respected Chase cardholder.
I don't know how you'd explain INQ, unless they were mtg or auto.

Hmmmm. I wonder if I should even call yet. I read a lot of people saying they called right away after getting the message and they got approved. I am confused.
my goodness just call lol there's no harm in calling.
Morning all,
I apped yesterday for the AAA Rewards Visa (being a long time AAA customer). I got the instant 30 day after apping online, then got an email saying 14-30 day answer by mail.
I decided to call the recon # this morning and talked with an underwritier. She asked me about a 4 year old bogus 30.00 collection and why I was late on my car payments about 2 years ago. I explained about the car only (that I had been late but never in collections and had made up to the point I got re-fied at a lower rate). After that, she approved me on the spot for $2500. Chase (First USA) check EQ only, 670 score for me.
