I want to get a mastercard sometime this year so I can have each major credit card. I do not want to change my freedom over to a mastercard because I have such a low limit. I don't know how fast that one will grow. I was looking at the Paypal Mastercard because I know the limit will grow quickly but the interest rates are crazy so I could never really run a balance if I needed/wanted too. I thought about getting one through FNBO since I have an Amex card with them but I don't know how good they are about opening a second credit card account. Any suggestions? I'm not doing anything now because I just got the two new Amex cards and I don't know how new account sensitive they are. I want the 61 days increase next month and I don't think a new card would look good for that.

Im on this same boat. Only MC i have is my lame Citizens bank CC that im thinking about closing. I was thinking about Citi Diamond preffered.
I looked at Citi but I don't know how hard they are to get in with. I have a shell gas card with them that I got back in September and it was like putting teeth to get approved. I worried they would give me a 500 limit since that is what my freedom card was approved for.

Perhaps you can get BofA to switch your Visa to MC? I had NFCU convert my Platinum Visa to Platinum MC through secure messaging-not difficult at all. That way I avoided a HP or opening a new TL.

I was approved for my freedom with a 500 cl aswell. Couple days later i apped for my forward and was approved for 2k. Hell same day i got approved for 500cl freedom i was approved for bce with a 2.5kcl. Chase is really stingy about cls.
I see your Freedom is now 3k. How long did it take you to get that cl? I just opened mine back in November. They are definitely stingy....I got approved for the Blue Sky at the beginning of Jan for 2.4k and then the BCE a few weeks later for 5.5k It's a shame because I really like the freedom card but I have been using it less since I got the Amex's

The bofa I have is the 99/500 I just got the rewards added on to it a few weeks ago. I worry about how that credit limit is going to grow too.
I'd say Capital One would be easier to get in with than Citi, but I do love my Citi Diamond Preferred with its EMV chip
