Got this email today from Discover.... checked and it's not a phishing email (links to discover.com properly, has my first name and last 4 of my card) but still strange.
I cant imagine that Discover would send an email for this - I would be suspicious and call Discover and ask if they sent it.
I just called, the rep verified it was a genuine email then started asking for details about my employment, citizenship, income, and assets...
Is this like Discover's version of a FR?

I received this in the mail requesting updated infor for my girlfriend. i started a chat and they said i needed to update SSN, address & date of birth. I hope someone can shed a little more light on this
I say just go into your Discover account and change one thing in your personal information, submit it, then change it back and submit it again. Then in their system they'll see that you've "updated your personal information" recently and perhaps you'll avoid any emails, snail mails, calls, etc.
This sounds like standard Know Your Customer/Patriot Act/AML stuff. Institutions are meant to periodically ensure that the data on you is up-to-date, and they could face large penalties for not doing so. You are probably just in a batch that needs updating
I received this message for my savings account with Discover. It's on the Account Summary page when I log in.
