Wasted my free annual pull today for TU

Received an alert from USAA CMS that a new account appeared on my Reports.  Saw a Capitol One TL that I did not recognize.

Not wanting to pull all 3 or purchase it directly through here, I used my free pull.

Ya, after further deduction, it was just my HSBC TL being changed to reflect the new account name -- that being, Capitol One.

Dang it..

Can't you just look at the CR on USAA? When I get an alert that I have a question about, I refresh my CR (which is free w/them) and check out all 3 CRs just to be sure everything is okay.

EQ FICO 750 | TU FICO 761 (Walmart) | EX FAKO 767 | Goal: 800+

Edits, funky spacing and spelling due to my iPad not getting along with the forum editor!

Re: Wasted my free annual pull today for TU

Wasted my husbands free Equifax pull because a Sears Citi rep said he had a collection and a credit score of 659. So, I panicked and pulled it, no collection. I asked the guy a couple times if it was a fico score and he insisted it was. Finally got the letter in the mail today and it's not a fico score, but a "score based off of information in your credit report that ranges between 250-900." What a waste of free credit report..  I feel your pain.

Current Cards: Cap 1 Journey $3000, Cap 1 Playstation $2250, WFNNB Store Cards $2450 combined, Target $700, CareCredit $1700, Barclay Rewards Plat. Mastercard $1800, Old Navy $300, DCU Platinum Rewards Visa $2000, Swagbucks Rewards Visa $1000

Starting Score: 615 EQ (03-15-2012) 600 TU (03-21-2012 Barclays app) ) Ch.7 discharged 5/2009

Current Score: 671 EQ (09-27-2014 DCU) 660 TU (9/26/14 Barclays) Ex 688 (10/07/2014 Swagbucks)

Seems to me not using your Free Annual is a waste.   It is good to use it every year even if you don't suspect anything.

You are exactly correct.

But for whatever reason - still hadn't woken up, etc... - I just didn't trust their pull.

Lesson learned for sure.
