Yes, definitely ask them. Make sure they understand it's the World MasterCard. Are you planning on PC'ing from Visa Signature? or, is your current card a Platinum Visa?
Just as a data point, of the two Cash Rewards CC's I have, I PC'd one from a standard Visa Signature to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Visa Signature and then PC'd that same card to the WWF WMC. This was during a period of over a couple years. Now, with BoA PCs, you have to exercise lots of patience. Once you know the PC is approved (can take up to 4 weeks), check back and confirm. Then, check online to ensure the naming convention on your card has changed as well and ta-da!
Got a BOA 321 cash rewards WMC.....orig card was a bank americard mastercard 21 month no interest back in may. PC request was for a world mastercard only. Was informed only cards in WMC are travel rewards or cash rewards and we must choose a reward program....Then submitted middle of june and by end of june the card came..... Also was told we had 90 days from receipt of cash rewards card to spend $500 and get $100. If it didnt process to chat or call in. So far card hasnt really been used.... so yeah. Other members have stated BOA will not add a bonus for a PC, that it was not normal. My response is, I think they did it as a courtesy due to the holders score, and wanting them to use the card, and it was on a few weeks old anyway.
