Amex you have to have more the 670 CS in order can have one maybe more CS
City : Same you have to have good credit Score

i Not said the Capital ONe , BoA ,Discover is not primer card or good bank, by you can have this card we 620 CS some time we less.
Individual credit cards could be considered prime while lenders themselves are hard to judge that way.
I know a guy who got a Chase Freedom as a first credit card. No credit is certainly not good credit, so that would take that thought out of the equation.
Capital One has cards for low credit scores and cards for excellent credit scores - they lend a little more universally than most other banks but they have card offerings that someone with a low credit score can not get (Venture, for example).
Citibank offers a secured card. As I've mentioned, I don't consider secured cards as prime card offerings even if the lender generally only offers cards to people with good to excellent credit scores.
I think the most "premier" card of all is the Amex Platinum. It's a badass card to have, and it commands respect.
Another very "premier" card in my opinion is the JP Morgan Ritz Carlton. It's badass as well.
I have both, and they are quite nice. I don't care about the AF's, the cards are very useful in a number of ways and they are my favorites.
i know I am a little late to this discussion, but I do believe that there is no such thing as a premier bank. I agree that "premier" is a subjective term and in the eye of the beholder. At one time it seemed that Amex was extremely hard to get, but now even they offer a secured card...two to be exact. I agree with others in that the benefits and/or rewards of a card in combination with the amount of credit that the lender is willing to give the consumer is what should determine if it is premier to you...not who the lender is.
APR only really matters to those that wish to carry a balance and AFs I am not sure really count. I mean the Amex Centurion has crazy fees!
Nevertheless I do believe that it is important to have a well rounded credit portfolio supported by lending from various "big banks" if possible, which is a long-term goal of mine on this credit rebuilding journey!
