Me too. I would fly out of the garden immediately.
@wasCB14 wrote:FWIW, I have the $49 IHG card, the $75 Hyatt card, and the $450 Marriott Amex.
I keep them for renewal nights/credits mainly, and I have a lot of unused hotel points. With other people involved, plans can change on short notice and award space can be hard to find with Hyatt and IHG.
Going forward, I plan to put much more spend on my Premium Rewards card than the hotel cards combined.
This is why I'd like a different hotel card. I currently have the no AF HH, which doesn't have a free night. The next one up doesn't have a free night as well unless you spend $15k on it. I'm now looking for one of the ~$95 AF cards that offer a free night.
I originally planned on getting the Hyatt card for a "free" luxury stay in NYC. But with Hyatt's small footprint, and my future cross-country adventuring, I believe IHG or Marriott will better benefit me since I can find hotels much more readily. With you mentioning that award space can be harder to find with IHG and Hyatt, maybe Marriott will be the way to go. Plus, they have the biggest footprint. My family seems to be heavily invested in Marriott points anyway (my wife for work with what was SPG and my parents with Marriott Vacation Club), so I suppose it can't hurt for me to generate even more points. We may never have to pay for a hotel ever again if there is a Marriott nearby...
The freaking Citibank Costco Visa card. Twice applied, twice denied. I have given up until my medical derogs fall off at the end of the year, along with like 14 inq from car shopping 2018.
I just want it!

Don't they target revolvers and not transactors, thus making the 2.5% cash rewards an interest rate rebate?

Pretty much. The targeted demographic is pretty much geared towards those with adequate scores and rebuilders
Well I'm LOL/24 so Chase is out of the question, tried for US Bank Cash+ and again too many INQ and new accounts. I don't really want Chase but would like the Cash+ so I'll be a good girl and garden for awhile.
For me it's Chase. I can't approved for anything with them. I burned them for about 40k in my bankruptcy.
Needless to say I will probably never get a Chase card again in my lifetime.

Should have gotten the Bonvoy BIZ before they increased to $125, and dropped teh 100 point offer.
Can still be worthwhile though, even if you only use the free night award. Also the 6X points aint bad considering some of their properties can be a bit higher priced.
