So far they are the only lender I seem to be blacklisted with. I burned them on an old Juniper card back in the aughts, and of course they don't forget. I'm not too torn-up over it, though, since we likely wouldn't get along anyway. (Yes, I know this sounds like 'sour grapes', but I really do think they would have issues with my number of accounts, and I would be forever looking over my shoulder.)
Macy's is iffy... I had a bad experience with DSNB just as it was being folded into Citi, and I don't know if they would "remember" that or not. I don't have any issues (so far) getting core Citi cards, though, so it's a toss-up if they would be willing to have me back for a Macy's. I don't have any plans to test the waters, and likely won't for the foreseeable future.
Juniper was before Barclays bought them out. I guess they purchased your burn as well. You probably didn't keep the clear green card for memories.
Since I started getting back into credit in 2016 I haven't had any denials. I burned Citi back in the early 90's for $1700 and I still don't show any prequals from them, although I get tons of mail offers from them. Haven't tried, but I have a feeling they still remember that "Drivers Edge" card. I was tempted to take a try with UMB for the DC card, but seeing everyone here get a fat NO from them, I'm fairly certain that would be a wasted HP for me. I've got more than enough cards for my spend patterns and needed purchasing power. I'm in the garden for likely most of 2020 so I can get my AAoA up towards 5 years and also not spook Chase since I just completed the Trifecta.
Back in my 20's before I paid attention to how credit worked, I had a lot of department store cards but Broadway was one that I could never get an approval for. I have no idea who the backing bank was for that card.

Great thread- I feel like I'm late to the party here, but I would love to have the Cash+ and so far, no dice. Have been turned down twice in the past. I know USB is a unique beast and I think I might finally break down and open a checking account. But, I would only be justifying the checking account to hunt down the credit card. I'm gardening all over again, so won't try with them for a while.

Bank of America.
I've been trying off and on for the better part of ten years to get in with them. The last time I called in for a recon, they said my lack of deposit accounts was a big strike against me. I think I have no recourse but to bite the bullet and open a checking account for that vaunted relationship qualifier.

Rings a bell. Got a pre-qualified for a Juniper MasterCard with a CL up to $12,000 at 8.0%. Wow ... after picking myself up off the floor I app'ed! Got a $1,200 Cl which they reduced to $500 after six months (reason insufficient creditline utilization). Say what, $1,200 is not going to set the world on fire! So, I closed it and never looked back. Then along comes the Barclay Sallie Mae World MasterCard with a $10K limit and auto CLI (no HP or SP) moving CL to $14K after six months. Seems Barclay's forgot the past (old Juniper MC was not on the bureau reports but existed internally I am sure).
This is embarrassing but I could never get approved for a Jcrew store card. In my 20's when I actually shopped there got turned down a couple of times. When I was rebuilding 10 years ago tried but declined again. If I still shopped there, I would apply for the hell of it but unless it pops up pre-approved with the sct then I am not burning an inquiry for a $500 store card.
RBFCU MC. Given that they are geo-restricted, I never applied 😔
Amex Hilton Honors is the only card in the past 2 years that I've been denied for. Had the BCE card show up on the prequalify page back in September but I didn't go for it since it was not the card I currently wanted. Will try to app for it in March or early April when most of my cards balances are down near $0 by then.
