I figured it was time to revive this topic! This is a fun way to learn a bit more about the cards we like, why we like them, and what/where we're spending (on). So I'll start...
Today, I used my Marvel MC at KFC. I've been using Discover for dining, but the KFC franchise across the street from my office doesn't take Discover. ![]()
Not a single card today! Hubby got his new pick-up today. After waiting 10 days. They gave him a gas card and said to fill my car up with gas. Not too shabby. ![]()
Discover for dining at Zaxby's, DC to pay a bill, and AMEX HHonors to stomp on repeatedly after getting bad info from a CSR that said any declined CLI request in the first 60 days doesn't set/reset the 91 day timer for requesting a CLI. So my 3x CLI attempt failed and is on hold till late August. Oh well--already met the bonus, so AMEX will probably be SD'd at least till Discover's 5% back at restaurants ends.
Today, I didn't use any of my cards. ![]()
but yesterday, I used my mileage club card (love this one), Bofa cash rewards at the pump, and freedom at jewel (my local supermarket). I'm waiting for my marvel mc and sam's mc (just approved last week), so I can use those at the pump and meals.
Oh, used my Amazon prime to order a credit card portfolio thingy...I need to upgrade from my ziploc bag that currently hold the cc's not in my wallet. ![]()
I used my Chase Amazon Rewards Visa for lunch today.
discover for an Amazon purchase (gifts for my friends baby) and amex bce on zulilly. I picked the discover over the dc for the amazon purchase because of statement cut date since both will give me 2% back. the zulily purchase was under $20 and though my amex cuts sooner then my discover it wasnt going mo make a huge impact, rewards wise this is only 1% but again the purchase was small. I am paid commision once a month (on the first or second tuesday depending on what day of the week the first of the month is on) with a small weekly draw, 4 of my cards (DC, Venture One, BCE and Freedom) statements cut in the first week and a half of the month so depending on when I am going to get my commision I have to decided which cards I can use more and pay off before statement cuts. Weirdly the other three cards all cut three days in a row in the 2/3 part of the month. I pay all but one or two in full before statement cuts each month, it doesnt seem to matter much in scoring for me.
SM on Amazon for a graduation gift, Freedom at the grocery store (need to check where we're at with that).
