Hello all, i am new to the forums, pls excuse the lack of experience.
I have been trying to clean up my credit for the past year or so.
I just ran my myFICO scores yesterday, and to my surprise, my score are not bad! (Exp: 667, EQ: 688, TR: 698)
The only negative items on my history are a couple late (30 day) payments on my auto loan, both within the last year or so. Second, a Auto Loan repo, about 3.5 years ago.
Based on that, what would be my chances of getting approved for a well known credit card such as AMEX, or a bank card like Chase Visa or similar???
Thx in advanced!!
Do you have any open credit cards?
Yes, a Best Buy card, opened about 3 years ago, limit $750.
Welcome to the forum.
First I would suggest using the pre-qual sites (Chase, AMEX, Barclays, Cap1, Citi) and see if there are any offers that match your credit profile. While your lates on your auto loan may seem pretty recent to major lenders, I would also go GW your auto lender and see if you can get those settled.
Based on your scores, you have a decent shot at getting some good cards, try the pre-qual sites first and see if anything comes up.
try creditcards.com site and see if you have any preapproval cards there. Commenity Bank has very good visa card (Total rewards Card). you have good chance of getting it in my opinion.
Thanks all for the great info. Any cards I should give preference to since my TransUnion score is the highest?

Discover IT/ Barclays/ GE cards
I would apply for a Sallie Mae Card by Barclay.
I would try Discover and Barclaycard pre-approval.
