Re: What can I add to my wallet or what should I?

Two questions:

1- How recent are your baddies?
2-How many inquiries do you have on each reports?

I don't think you're ready to apply for unsecured prime cards with that low score...

You should add a secured card like Bank of America or wells fargo.. After a while they might be able to graduate your card into a secured one

Re: What can I add to my wallet or what should I?

Well in that case you have two options:

1-Add a secured card which will help you build more positive credit history

2-Wait until all your baddies are off your reports which i believe you only have to wait one more year and then apply for a prime card

You can also add more GE store cards but many prime lenders won't see them like "real cards" in a manual review of your application but in fico terms any positive tradeline helps...

Re: What can I add to my wallet or what should I?

I wouldn't get any other GE card just my two cents. They grow with you but if I were in your shoes I'd call under writing and ask for 1000 on both walmart and American eagle and 1500 on paypal. It's only a soft pull

Re: What can I add to my wallet or what should I?

Yes, thats other option ask for CLI to your current creditors... As colindidt says GE will give you a CLI without a hard inquiry on your reports... So theres no harm...but if i were you i'd apply for a secured card like Bank of America; it'll help you better cuz after a year they might graduate your card and you'll keep all the history... Good luck

Re: What can I add to my wallet or what should I?

If any prime card would give it to you, it would be DiscoverIT. But it's doubtful with your low scores. If you were like 690, it might happen. You can give them a shot but you might just want to wait until 7 years hit and your baddies fall off. Even just a small bump will improve your chances.
