Something like that, although I can see it being useful for just being outgoing in general.
You get an APR reduction as long as you keep making your payments on time. It's not huge, but it'll accumulate over time (0.25% every three months, up to a 2% deduction) .And you get reward points for using it at restaurants and for entertainment.
I'm sure there's a better Citi card out there, but the Forward is what I've been looking at.

At that time my 6-month probation period with Barclay's will be over -- as well as my charge-off with HSBC from 2005 falling off. Additionally, two of my hard inq's will have fallen off by then as well. At which point I will go for the hat-trick: CHASE FREEDOM, DISCOVER MORE, and AMEX ZYNC. My A, B, and C cards.
My A card has always been Chase Freedom. I dream of the day it will be my every day card. Only 5 more months.....Until then I will be gardening and paying my cc balances down until spring when they dip below 10%. Then it's APP TIME!!!!!
6-month probation with Barclay's....What is that all about?????

Probation period as in you use the card for six month and pay on it just to establish a good payment history with Barclays.
I might be tempted to app for one of those cool looking Disney cards. Hopefully, Chase will let us in their credit door one of these years.
I started 2011 with a credit score of 550 and two Capital One rebuilder cards with limits of $4,500 and $1250. I've had the $4500 card since 2007 and it initially had a CL of $300. Along with the two Capital One rebuilders, I now have an AMEX Gold backdated to 1991, Discover More w/ $4,000 CL, Citi AAdvantage Platinum w/ $10,500 CL, and FICO scores are EQ: 791 and TU: 782. The only other cards I want are the AMEX Platinum because I travel 4 days a week for work, and the AMEX Delta Reserve. I will ask to have the Gold upgraded to Platinum in July, which will be the 1 year mark of being back with AMEX. I have no interest in applying for other cards because of better rewards. My new goal is to try and cross the 800 line with my credit score.

That's one of the reasons why I got the AMEX Platinum, it comes with the Priority Pass to access certain VIP lounges. Comes in very handy.

Well I should receive my Discover More on New Years Eve, so can we count that towards 2012? If so I would be 1 for 1 on cards wanted. I would like to get a CLI on my Amex Delta Platinum card. Chase Sapphire Preferred, probably late 2012 I would also like to get rid of my Crapital One card, unless they waive my AF.
Nope...because you still received it in 2011...
I'll go along with that...then you would have received it in 2012!
@JustMe77 wrote:Hopefully none. The only card I really want is the Costco Amex but I need to improve my score first. I do have my eye on the Chase Disney card, because we are planning a trip to FL in 2012 and visit pretty frequently. No reason to open that, though, unless we want the intro APR, which I would rather avoid.
For the posters talking about Target cards, I love my Target Debit card. Same 5% discount but no credit check.
ETA: The one thing I am excited about doing in 2012 is closing my Orchard card. Am closing it in August, right at the 2 year mark.
I love my Target Debit card too!
