Hi. I am currently shopping for a new credit card and here is my situation.
Already have four cards (see my signature). I use Citi Forward for 5x TYP at restaurants, and I use AMEX BC for gas and grocery at 2%-3% cash back. I spend roughly 150-200 on gas every month, and I feel like I could be getting more cash back if I get a Sallie Mae reward card (5%) or PenFed Platinum Rewards which is also ~4.2% cash back.
Or should I consider a premium card such as CSP? I always PIF, and my credit score is around 760 I believe. My AAoA is about 4 years and credit history is roughly 6 years.
Thanks!

Why would you want a CSP if you get 5x TYP at Restaurants? Just curious.. because they say it's "premium". :-/ Eh, not me. Whatever doesn't make money, doesn't make a whole heck of a lot of sense nor cents to me.
If I had 5x TYP I wouldn't have apped for CSP, but I also don't value the CSP in some other ways as others, as well.
If you spend that much in gas, I would think the 5% cash back on Sallie Mae would be perfect for you.. not to mention the 5% on Groceries up to 250 a month as well so that would really take away some money from being used on BCE.
Either way you go, you're in a great situation. You can pick whichever card you'd like I'd think. Run the numbers and see what really is important to you and what you spend normally on -- and find the card that will make the biggest dent.
Best of luck and great job so far!
Thanks! I have the grandparent Citi Forward card which gives me 5x TYP on dining and Amazon. Hopefully they don't take it away any time soon...
I agree with Kenny, 5% cash back on groceries and gas (although only over max 250$) as supplied by the Barclays Sallie Mae rewards card sounds like it's made for you ![]()
