So im wanting to get the Chase Freedom Visa, I'm wondering if you think I'll get approved for it. I turned 18 in May of 2012, no derogs on credit, about 23% uti.
These are the cards i have now-
Discover it 12/12
Discover More 10/12
Cap One 10/12
Best Buy store card 05/12
Walmart Store Card 03/13
I want to the freedom for the 5% categories to add to discover 5% categories. I dont want to apply and not get approved and have to go through recon and possibly waste an inquiry.
i have around 10 inqs, not sure how many are one each cr but you know... around that number.
either way, what do you think? any other questions let me know.
Your getting there but FYI chase like to see 6-12 months history and your cards are just too new but take care of them awhile and at that point I think you will be approved

Your AAOA is probably low, high inq's ( even assuming half are on the bureau they pull) plus your new cc's (4 new accts in 6 mos) - IMO, I would wait until after Oct. You will have 2 cc's with a yr of pyts and some of your inq's will be at least 1 yr old. Chase doesn't look at store cards for revolving history- so you really need to age the cc's.
Again, just my .02. 😉
Thats what I was thinking as well. Ill wait half a year and apply. hopefully wont have to recon.
Thumbs up for us young people who care about our credit at 18!! Whoa! But yeah ma dude your accts are very new maybe allow another 6 months past as well as your inquiries to age a little more, Once this happens I say your great for FREEDOM. My sister who turned 19 on January just needs to lower her UTL for chances of Freedom approval to be... well...APPROVED, so yeah Just lets things age a little more. Congrats on your success so far!!!
what about the amazon visa card? any chance of approval for that. im gonna hold out for the freedom but just looking at some of the options.

The more cards you apply for now, the further away the opportunity for Freedom. You need to wait until October. Do you know what your AAOA is?
+1
couldn't have said it any better
to add: you do NOT want to rush things with Chase. If you app in a hurry, you will need to recon most likely. And even if you do get approved, chances are they'll give you a toy card (500-1000CL). Chase auto CLI are extremely rare, and customer initiated CLI cost another HP. So rather than to waste 2 HP to get a decent limit Freedom, why not just wait, and get it with just 1 HP instead?
