@Gemini77Synchrony just closed my ToysRUs card. Got a myFICO alert that my account status is paid loan. Checked the card account and I have $0 available credit. The balance was paid in full already. Just hope that the closed account doesn’t damage my score. So far it doesn’t appear so, but I’m keeping an eye out.
The only way the account closing could potentially hurt your score is if you are carrying balances on other credit cards and your closed card here had a limit that was relatively high, thus aiding in keeping your utilization low. If your utilization went up across a threshold due to your card being closed, you could see a score decrease. That's about the only way, though.
For what it’s worth, when HH Gregg stores closed, my mother’s HH Gregg card was automatically converted to a Synchrony Home credit card. It kept the original account open date and credit limit. This seems to have occurred six months after HH Gregg brick and mortar stores closed.
The CL was $4,000 with a balance of $0 and no swipe usage in the last six months.
I have no no idea whether this will be the direction Synchrony takes with the ToysRUs card.

I'm just curious what they do plan to do is all. I don't know that that card would be usefull to me where I live, tough neither was the TRU card most of the time. But it worked on TRU.com purchases, so it did come in handy at times. Especially during Holidays.
TBH, I wont really miss it if gone. I just don't want another closed accnt. on my report. Though I assume the CCC' would know the reason for the closure, given what has happened. I've just heard it can ding you score to ahev a closed account?
