What is AMEX up to now?

I pulled my TC today to check something and the following appeared:

TC AMEX

Considering the fact that I have not had any dealings with AMEX for over a decade I am mystified. It needs to come off!  Who should I contact about this AMEX or the CB?

My picture was showing when I viewed this message on my other computer. How do I get in to appear here? I had no problem getting this to work before the s/w was updated.

Was this under inqs or what?

(all I get on my end is a giant empty box, except that up at the top, there's a red dot and then TC AMEX"

Ditto on Safari

Did you read the part where I stated that I have had no dealings or contact with AMEX for over a decade? This account is old business, long since aged off reports (FCRA) and time-barred (SOL). Now, out of the blue it has been reported and is appearing on my EX report.

Right now it is probably helping my score, but it doesn't belong there and I want it off! I doubt this is AMEX's backhanded way of offering me the OASIS program. Who do I talk to AMEX or the CB? Or AMEX first and then the CB if AMEX doesn't make me happy?

I do have a wonderful consumer attorney on retainer down here who would love to introduce these folks to the FCRA/FDCPA, but I'd rather handle this one myself. I'd like to save him for the heavy lifting!

If it's actually good for your score, why do anything? Personally I'd leave it.

Re: What is AMEX up to now?

The same thing happened to me!  I have not dealt with AMEX since 1997.  It just showed up on my reports (pulled them tonight.)  Here is what mine said on Experian....... sounds just like yours to a "t". Date of last activity Oct 2008.  Uh, no!  It also shows on TU and EQ. The DOLA shown on TU is June 1997, which would be just about right, maybe a few years even before then. I am willing to bet that we will be hearing from others on this soon. They are definately up to something alright.
