I axed my Credit One card a couple of weeks ago. However, I still have access to the account online and it's still showing I have available credit. No new charges have posted; I had a recurring charge that has been denied according to the vendor. So why is my acct still appearing as an open acct........anybody else run into this before?

Account reporting fee ![]()
I agree. I hate them as well. Just closed my account (it had an $1100 limit) and they kept pushing me to take a $250 limit increase for a fee of course. I had to yell and scream at the retention agent on the phone and demand it closed, but he was probably one of the rudest call center agents I have encountered for a long time. I tried to explain to the guy that between 4 cards, I have a combined limit of $85K, so why on earth would I want their useless card.
I just closed mine last week after opening it in Aug 2014, paid~$100 in fees over 4 months. Cards already destroyed.
Got a "we want you back" email yesterday...deleted.
I think 3-fingered Louie in Canarsie has better "loan" terms than creditone!
Yep, I had the same issue with them when I closed mine about 2 months ago. It takes them about a month but it now reports closed, but you will still have access to the login account on the site.
The best way I found to close the account is tell them the reason is they have "no grace period" on purchases. Nothing they can do OR say about it, because thats a policy they can't change..... that fact made the conversation alot shorter.
I will just keep monitoring it until it is reported closed on the CRA for a month or two.........just don't trust these birds.
This card is sure shady, almost up there with FP in being a horrible card. Also, why hasn't Cap One sued them yet? They even have a similar logo. Hmmmmm.

It really is uncanny how similar the logos are.
