What is 'Opt-In'?

I keep reading posts that refer to 'opting in' for pre-approve cards.  How do I 'opt-in'?

It's called opt out, but you can also opt in here. I think everyone is automatically opted in, until they opt out.

Thanks for the info, I had no idea I could Opt-In.  Now I'm going to sit back, pray for my score to go up, and hope for the good pre-approvals.

Unless you elected to opt-out in the first place, you're already opted-in.

For example, I opted-out because I didn't want any preapproval offers. If I ever decide I want to start getting them again, I can opt-in (doubtful).
