I just got a CLI today. Limit was $32,300 now $36,000. I asked for $40k first, then $38k. Both triggeredFRIV (income verification request). Once I dropped to $36k, it was an instant approval. Starting limit was $4k 24 months ago.
Fixed that for you. I am going to go mad if I don't learn to just let that go. Congrats for both the CLI and for not actually triggering a financial review.
IV = Amex asks you to voluntarily provide tax transcripts. You don't comply, you don't get that credit line increase.
FR = Your charging ability stops on all accounts until American Express examines your finances and is comfortable in reinstating your accounts. You don't comply, you are no longer an American Express cardmember.

Thanks, yeah..that's what I meant. Yeah.. let it go buddy. LoL
It's not that serious.. atleast for me it isn't.
Not for you, but for newer people I think it is worthwhile to make the distinction clear, since it's possible for people to google lots and lots of false and scary information on FRs. Getting an IV request is not such a big deal (and whether the individual chooses to comply or not is a personal decision).
