What is considered or codes as “travel” for CSR?

Hi everyone. I've been surfing these forums for awhile now, but in the past, I would use DW's account, as she never made use of the forum as much as I would. Now, I have my own account and, before getting to the topic question, wanted to sincerely thank everyone in these forums for fostering such an invaluable depth of financial knowledge. The breath of information I have learned and shared with others from here from CCs to debt, I doubt there are many places I could find such comprehensive information.
In regards to the topic question, does anyone know what distance from your home address Chase considers and will be codied as travel for the CSR?

Re: What distanced considered travel for CSR?

Can you rephrase the question?

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

Re: What distanced considered travel for CSR?

What type of transactions is this concerning?    ...  the merchants code play a big role as the determining factor.

Flights, train, bus, Limo, rideshare,  car rentals, tolls, taxi (in my experience) any others can code as travel on a Chase cc.ie CSR.

You are referring to distance, can you be illustrative by providing an example.

CSR,  do you mean Chase Sapphire Reserve?

Thanks.

[sarcastically speaking] I would not want someone to ignore your post because they may think of you walking/driving over to a friends home (Rideshare (Lyft) downtown .7 miles to the county US Post Office} just to retrieve their mail while they are away on vacation.

Hahaha....In distance, I mean to say, yes, if I live in Texas and travel to California, whatever expenses made at stayed hotel will be considered travel and codied as such. However, if I am in Texas and stayed at a Holiday Inn a block away from my home address, would that still be considered a travel expense? I think the answer would be yes, but always wanted to ask about this.

Re: What distanced considered travel for CSR?

The classification of "travel" has absolutely zero to do with distance and everything to do with the classification of the vendor you paid money to via your credit card.

This.

Right, taking a taxi/rideshare 1 block or paying for parking in the lot right by your residence would be treated as travel, all to do with MCC involved.
