I’m planning to apply for a new card in the next 2 months’ or so. My current FICO as of today is 681. Score watch says my amount of debt and amount of new credit is “not good,” while everything else is good/great. My utilization rate is at 88%, but it should be 35-50% in the next few weeks after my payments reflect on my credit report. I don’t have any other chase or discover cards, and I have a stable income. I don’t want to apply for both, I would like to keep my inquiries low. I read that chase recon line is good, but I’m not sure if it is better than discover. So :
Who is easier to qualify with.
Who gives better/higher cl
Discover It.

IME, Discover is easier, but Chase will give a higher initial CLI. YMMV, of course.
For me, Discover was easier to acquired. With Chase, I had to recon and recon and recon and recon and recon..... you get the point. lol But of course, it's YMMV thing.
I was approved for Chase Freedom $7k and Chase Slate $4k, while Discover denied me.

Do you have any idea what your real scores are, it would help to know before you apply. Those FAKO scores in your sig are meaningless, and may give you a false sense of where you are.
For me it was easier to get Discover. I tried for Chase twice and got denied both times...even on Recon. They were very nice though and let me know I should try again in maybe 6 months because of the new accounts I acquired in 2013.
I would say Chase. You can actually get somewhere on a recon in case you do get denied to explain anything that threw a flag on your report as Discover will pretty much stay with the denial you get online and tell you to try again later.
Good Luck
